The Sika Experience

6 month went by very fast and is almost time for me to leave Sika again. And although I am happy to get out of the cold and wet New Jersey weather I am sure going to miss Sika and all the amazing people working here!

I want to thank you all again for your great support!

I had the opportunity to develop my professional and personal skills by working on challenging projects and really enjoyed being in the US, New Jersey and of course New York!

Being part of Sika has been amazing and I will keep a lot of good memories!

I started my internship as a Marketing Assistant at Sika USA in Lyndhurst, New Jersey in August. Being part of the wood floor bonding marketing team has been a very rewarding task. I have learned a lot about the natural characteristics of wood and the resulting requirements for effective adhesion solutions. As a recent graduate in business administration it is always fascinating for me to learn more about the chemical background of many products.

At the beginning I was a little concerned that it would be hard for me to work in the product marketing of a chemical company as I did not have an academic background in chemistry. However my concerns were absolutely unnecessary as I received great support from all Sika employees in Lyndhurst and also in Switzerland. However by far the most interesting and fun part of my internship is going out into the field to see how the products are actually used by our customers on different construction sites.
