The Sika Experience

It wasn’t a such professional ice hockey game like ZSC Zürich versus SC Bern, but it was as close as those finals of the swiss ice hockey championship. Together with some colleagues of the R&D Membranes department I went to Engelberg and played against a team of another company. Before we were able to go onto the icy surface we had needed about half an hour to get all that protectors at the right place of the body. I didnt think that I could do at least some steps on the ice with that sort of equipment, however, after some practice it was okay.

Then we started the match and it was really a tough game against a hard opponent.  But we showed some nice combinations and scored some goals. In the defence our goalkeeper was fantastic so after two-thirds of the playing period we were clearly in the lead. In the last third we all were out of power so the opponent could level the score. The decision was brought by golden goal, unfortunately the winner wasn’t team Sika.

After getting off that protectors, which is much more easier, and after we had taken a shower, we went to a Mexican restaurant. With tortillas and some „Stangen/Panaches“ we finished that day. We all had a lot of fun and a great time together. However, the next day at work some were complaining about muscle soreness, which I think it was worth it.
